Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark foggy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner was jacket potato, cheese, beans, hot quiche, side salad. Tonight I'm not sure - but will sort this afternoon.
Work was quite busy with more situations cropping out to do with next week. To say I'll be glas when this is over is an understandment.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. No frost this morning but still feels nippy so the heating is on again.
Nothing exciting in store (there rarely ever is) but I might pop down town for the odd bits I need. This was going to happen on Monday but didn't! I wonder if I will spot any more shut down shops, although the town does seem to be getting marginally busier these days.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and MIA. We miss you. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all
Cold here again but no frost the heating is on for a while to warm the place through.
Had a great day yesterdays only two turned up as one was poorly but I still got paid for all three as is was short notice, we went to a local park for a walk around and there was a little train running so we had a go on thatthen we walked up to the sea front and sat and had our picnic it was really warm in the sun we then walked around the town for a while and one of my guys bought some painting supplies as he is a brilliant artist, we had a coffee in a lovely Polish cafe and then came home it was a really nice day.
One guy coming today as the other one is the young lad who is getting violent, so I will see if he wants to do the same, this one doesn’t like walking as much so it might be a stretch for him but he would enjoy the train.
Dinner tonight will be something and chips maybe egg chips and beans. I have put a wash on this morning which may be able to go on the line for a bit.
Have good days all xx11 -
Good morning folks, been MIA again. OH and I have been busy trying to re-organise financial stuff before new financial year, 2 F2F meetings have proved very useful, taken a chunk of time and energy, stretched the grey matter greatly!. It helped that the adviser is so helpful and patient with these 2 older souls.
My poor brain also addled with trying to set up the appropriate phone apps, first one a doddle (except need to do the fingerprint thing), gave up on another when tsb didn't seem to want to acknowledge me, but will try again and tackle the most important one later. I get cross with myself that I seem to have completely lost confidence dabbling in IT stuff since I retired, OH is still further back in the dark ages, so no back up there and no young people at hand.
nmlc thank you for starting us off again, I hope that all the changes are soon over and done with and that work is less of a trial.
Hugs and spoons to all that need them. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)11 -
Hi everyone,
I didn't manage to get on yesterday until late and by that time my brain had shut down, I managed to type a sentence and then deleted it. I don't feel much better today, I'm really tired.
Steve is getting back to normal at last, he still has a cough but is no longer so ill with it. We were really worried because we are going to Wales at the weekend to celebrate Laura's birthday (40, how on earth did that happen). Steve's sister and her family are coming at the beginning of the week and then friends at the end. Brian is compiling a memories book for her so I have to write something for it today. Unfortunately, Chris and Crystal won't be able to make it which is a shame.
I have a loaf to make and a piece of pork to put in the slow cooker this morning. I want to do some sewing as well because that has been on hold while I sorted out the kitchen. We took the fruits of my labours to the charity shop yesterday so that is out of the house.
Have a good day.12 -
Redruby, I'm glad you're getting in the swing of things, I cross posted with you.
Maddie, I'm very llazy about that sort of thing because Steve is so good at it, I keep telling myself that I must learn to do it myself in case something happens to him. Unfortunately these things come so easily to him he doesn't make the best teacher.12 -
Morning folks. I slept really well and long, probably down to the heavy duty analgesics I took last night. 😀
Unsurprisingly yesterday was spent very quietly. In the afternoon I went upstairs to the TV room for a few hours. This morning I'm moving a little less painfully and managed to get back into bed from my usual side again even if slowly. Progress at least. 😀
I've ordered new cutlery which'll arrive on Friday or Saturday. It's a shame as I've had the current set for over 20 years, perhaps it about time. I'll check it all over and donate the better pieces to a CS. Only the teaspoons show wear or staining so will go to the recycling place. Not much food was eaten yesterday, today I have an M&S mac and cheese to use up, after that there is plenty in the freezer to keep me going.TA - enjoy your trip to town.Ruby - your day sounds so lovely.Maddie - well done on tackling IT and smartphone. It's vital that we all keep up with technology otherwise we become isolated and dependent. Perhaps one app a day is enough to wrangle with.Snoozer - it's no wonder that you're so tired! I hope that you can get some time to yourself, a wee spot of pampering will do you the world of good.I'm warming up for a bit. Getting up and dressed can wait a while yet. 😊 Happy Wednesday to all.14 -
Morning All
Rotten weather here, heavy rain that looks set in for the day. Washing can go on the pulley until tonight, will move it by the fire when I go to bed.
Decided to stay home (I have a fit note until Tuesday) and will go back on Monday, I actually felt a lot better yesterday so want to make sure I really am fit to go back. One colleague is still off with a head injury and the other has just tested positive for Covid so I feel a little guilty (but not enough to go in!).
I had a dress delivered yesterday for DDs wedding that I really like so have ordered shoes and a bag too, it seems very organised for me as the wedding isn't until October, DD hasn't even looked for a dress yet!
Hoping everyone is well and has a happy Wednesday. Take care. XX12 -
Morning! Sunny again! What's going on? Have a last minute blood letting at the hospital today, so I'm showered and dressed which is todays number one achievement. I took the stuff I'd forgotten about to the CS yesterday and dropped the skateboard at the skatepark, so more stuff gone and have booked a tip run for Monday so I have the next four days to impose order on the garage, which is really a shed, and a leaky one at that. But oh, outside things are sprouting and being green, which is lovely to see, and it was so warm yesterday [compared to last week] it was almost tropical...Such a mood lifter. OHs mother roundly told off for asking how much she owed by her son when I gave her the book. He said to her, mum, it's a gift, are we asking how much we should pay you for tea? which I thought very good analogy on the spur of the moment. I probably would have gone with dinosaurs and unicorns and the difference in reality and made no sense at all...:) Spur of the moment snappy comebacks are not my thing.snoozer, you're beginning to sound super exhausted...hope you get a break soon...maddie, just keep playing...I once deleted an important file that totally killed my computer because I was trying to make space. It won't be that bad...
Gers, there's no law against cutlery keeping..My sister and I have stuff form my mothers childhood [not much left now admittedly] but still wicked sharp enough to cut hairs off your arm. Could put four in a box display on the wall in the kitchen if you really loved them.. Or get a basket for the dw not a tray...camelot, best thing to do. I lost count of the times I went back to work when I wasn't well just because of the pressure to go in...You [don't] go girl! Have fun all, take care, shout out to the unwell in whatever sense...

Morning everyone
Another nice bright morning here.
I'm not at work today so will walk down to mam and dads for a cuppa this morning. I have washing spinning which will go out on the line.
I want to have a look at Vinted at some point today...I have a few things little one has outgrown that I want to try on there. I have an account on Ebay but the sellers fees annoy me. DD has sold a few things on Vinted so I'll give it a go.
I expect I'll see little one this afternoon - she has carers go on a Wednesday morning - she was planning on asking them to take her to the park this morning.
Snoozer - I hope you manage to get a little bit of quiet time to yourself
Maddie - I tend to ask my daughter if I have phone issues or our youngest staff member at work
Gers - hope you're feeling better soon
Ruby - I agree with Gers - your days sound lovely - your clients must be glad you're back
TA - enjoy your trip out
Well the washing has stopped so I'll hang it on the line. Hope everyone has a good day today x14 -
Morning everyone NMLC I will keep everything crossed that next week goes smoothly for you Maddie I know how you feel I’m absolutely no good with technology it took me years to find out how to get on here I just struggle with the most simple things it’s alright people say just try when it’s going alright but if I get stuck I don’t know how to get out of it .veg done stewing steak done just to warm up when I get in tonight with a couple of Yorkshire puddings it’s freezing here and another hard frost I have a couple of tops I am going to take in to work today and some bedding while we have washers empty it saves me a bit of electric. STS at WW last night slow but sure it’s better than putting on work at 12 so must get cracking. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13
