Hi all,

We've been in contact with Habito just to see what they said basically and they have come back with worse deals with other lenders than we've been offered with our current one (Halifax)

My question is, Habito have also said they can't do a comparison with Halifax and have asked for my Halifax account number to do this and they will then check.

Habito have said if we were to to a product transfer through them them would give us £25 cashback, not a lot granted but what's the negative about going through them rather than accepting the offer through the Halifax app?

I see it as we would gain £25 and still end up with the same deal as going through Halifax no??

Any advice much appreciated, looking to sort this ASAP as mortgage reverts to the Svr at the end of the month!

There is no negative.  However, there should be increased consumer protection if done via the broker as it will be an advised transaction rather than a non-advised transaction.

Product transfers pay less than remortgages.   There is less work for the broker as well.    Halifax will pay the broker if you used one but keep the money for themselves if you do not.

Halifax do dual price with brokers and direct so make sure you do end up with the same deal that you wanted in the first place.

You then have to work out if the £25 is a nice easy payment or if it requires hours of providing documents and information.   In which case its not a lot for the effort

Thanks very much for the replies.

It seems from that it's relatively straightforward with no strings so to speak, I'll go ahead and give the broker my account number and see if the figures stack up with what I've been offered direct.
