Cheshire.....

Well specifically Sandbach.

Any areas to avoid ?  Also any thoughts /experiences of the place from folks who live/work there, or have done in the past, much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    We live in Shavington.
Sandbach is a Nice town with weekly market.
Usual shops and Waitrose and Aldi.
Busy roads as M6 Jun 17 nearby
Cheshire is a great place to live.
Country living is you like Cows and the smells of the  countryside !
Fabulous  Ambulance staff working out of Sandbach station
Great transport links with trains and motorway network.

Nearly bought in Sandbach 20 years ago. Abbey Road and Crabmill Drive were decent. We ended up on King Street in Middlewich in the end. Hence the username.

    Hi, I love Cheshire!

Have relatives in Wilmslow and also in Poynton. Both really lovely places. I've not been to Sandbach but it's not far from either of those places. We've actually recently been wondering whether to move from up north to Poynton, some lovely places there and of course not too far from countryside. And of course, there's Chester nearby - lovely historical place.

I just think that Cheshire is a lovely county, probably has its not too savoury areas as do all places but maybe worth a visit to check things out, if you haven't already.

The problem with Poynton at the moment is the amount of traffic passing through the centre. When the new bypass is finished it should be better, but expect property prices there to go up.

We have close relatives in nearby Leighton (Crewe) and Nantwich.  They love it there and we have been discussing a move to Cheshire in the not too distant future.
  • Cheers for all the feedback everyone !

We do have relatives who live in walking distance from the town centre, have stayed with them before flights from Manc airport, so we have spent a bit of time in the town, couple of the restaurants and bars etc, and we like the centre.  They were not clued-up on all the different areas, as not been there that long themselves, but didnt think there were any particular places to avoid..

I did some searching on old threads on here and saw some mentions of a bail hostel on the outskirts ( Elworth ? ) interested to know if there are any ongoing issues with that ?

A bail hostel is irrelevant as they are in most towns so just forget about such a thing
