Returning package to France

I bought some joint pain tablets to try. They were sent from France, a bit expensive but a 90 day money back guarantee if they did not help. However the instructions on how to take them -twice a day with a full glass of water and a full meal - were totally unrealistic for my wife and I never opened them.
I asked about the guarantee and was immediately given the return address in France together with a wording and customs reference that would ensure no duty is payable.
The local post office were not willing to accept the package saying they did not recognise the customs reference and also warning of the computer related delays to all parcels.
The company has confirmed that the reference is correct and suggested using another carrier to avoid the risk of a post office delay hitting the 90 day guarantee limit.
Can anyone suggest a suitable carrier to handle this.

I can't advise on a suitable carrier.
I sympathise if you get joint pain as I get gout and I know how painful it can be.
What tablets are they and why did you buy them from France?
I intend no offence but are they a properly recognised treatment for joint pain or are they 'snake oil' tablets?
Ibuprofen is available cheaply without prescription in the UK and stronger NSAIDs such as Naproxen may be available via your GP.
Have you consulted a medical professional about your joint pain?
Rather then return them, perhaps consider asking your local pharmacy if they recognise these French sourced tablets and ask them if it is essential to precisely follow the 'twice a day with a full glass of water and a full meal' instructions. A glass of milk may suffice.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".1 -
You can send them back using Royal Mail, book and pay on line, tracked and they will pick it up.
At the moment you cannot drop off at a post office although this may change soon.0
