I doubt they knew about Octopus reliability for their advert on trustpilot before it was mentioned here. Might be worth you deleting that.

The reason behind it (so they say) is when the adverts are on TV it mentions the Trustpilot score, and if the score drops they would need to pull the adverts, so thats why they wanted staff to ask, to keep the score up!

So on that logic one way to get to a quick conclusion with Octopus if needed would be to say you are creating a trustpilot review regarding your communication/incident/complaint etc.
    Hi

About Trustpilot, some companies do try to ensure their score remains high and will act when you have left an honest/negative review and will also respond on a honest/postive review

The are compaines that never or hardly respond to a negative or positive but I have found the nes that do on the TP site often resolve the problem but it may take a TP review to trigger that at times. IMO, be concise re your complaint, take name details of who you spoke to and what and when is their next action, seek a direct email and confirm via concise email the chat on the phone.

Therefore, from what I have seen, co's that respond to negative feedback will try to sort out.

We had a conservatory done on a rental - the outfit missed appointments and then sent out people that had no idea what to do then ignored calls et - a TP review got  them going but in a negative way ie threats of legal action and TP contacting me several times removing and reinstating review and the review stayed as it was honest and fair picture of events. The outfit then repaired the item and then again wanted me to remove - but as I had updated it with the repair I refused and the review is still there. Therefore, IMO, if you have treid to get  get stuff sorted and they are not helping, do try TP but be honest and concise about the events and a fair write up often results in positive outcomes but only if the company cares about their feedback.

I'm waiting on a quote back from Octopus - currently on (inherited) prepay meters with Scottish Power for both electricity (which is a smart meter and is most definitely faulty - wrong balance and constantly losing connection) and gas.  If anyone is considering switching to Scottish Power - for the sake of your mental and financial health - avoid, avoid, avoid!
Seconded. Very poor experience with Scottish power as SoLR.
I also had British Gas as SoLR which was poor (not as poor as SP); currently happy with Octopus.

100% agree. Truly dreadful. By the time i left I didn't know whether i'd  been over charged or not. Bills were all over the place. I just gave up and was glad to leave. Customer services are truly dire too.
