Would that mean their benefits are going up £140 a month with inflation in April?

Depends what they are getting. If they are getting help with rent the help they get with that will not change because the LHA rates have been frozen.williewonder said:If somebody gets £1440 a month in benefits and benefits are going up 10% in April. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6418001/how-much-is-my-esa-going-up-by-in-april#latestYour Housing Benefit will be unchanged.
If you pay some Council Tax you will have to pay more after April than you do now.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.2 -
I don't pay council tax. My rent isnt included in the £1440. I get high rate PIP for both, plus Support group ESA with enchanced disability thing.0

PIP and ESA are going up by 10% (I think it’s actually 10.1%). The actual rates are in the link I provided above (and in your last thread).PIP enhanced rate both parts goes from £156.90/week to £172.75.
Your ESA with SDP included goes from £204.75/week to £225.45/week.
Those two benefits are £1,567.15/month increasing to £1,725.53/month, an increase of £158.38/month (an increase of 10.1%). You are of course paid fortnightly for ESA and every 4 weeks for PIP.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.3 -
I only get £627.60 PIP and £409.50 ESA every fortnight so Total £1446.60. Will mine be going up by £158.38 a month?0

The difference there is calcotti has worked it out monthly (weekly x52 ÷12) and you are actually talking about 4-weekly (but called it monthly).
The amounts are the same - the amounts calcotti quotes weekly translate to your amounts 4-weekly for PIP and fortnightly for ESA.
Your benefits will increase by a total of £36.55 per week, which 4-weekly is £146.20.2 -
Thank you. It may seem like I get a lot but soon I'll have to make a large contribution per month towards my support hours to social services.0

I worked it out monthly because monthly that is what you said in the thread title.williewonder said:I only get £627.60 PIP and £409.50 ESA every fortnight so Total £1446.60. Will mine be going up by £158.38 a month?
As I said in my answer you are not paid monthly
A month is not a whole number of weeks (except in February).calcotti said:You are of course paid fortnightly for ESA and every 4 weeks for PIP.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1
