PCN from Gateshead Trinity? Yes, I've Read The NEWBIE Post

Hi all, firstly, I've done as what is advised and read the NEWBIE post, or tried to, but there is just so much info on there, I am struggling to pinpoint what applies to him or not.

Is he literally to appeal online and copy and paste this, but fill in the PCN number:

I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement and I will be making a complaint about your predatory conduct to your client landowner.
There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. Since your PCN is a vague template, I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle.
If the allegation concerns a PDT machine, the data supplied in response to this appeal must include the record of payments made - showing partial VRNs - and an explanation of the reason for the PCN, because your Notice does not explain it.
If the allegation involves an alleged overstay of minutes, your evidence must include the actual grace period agreed by the landowner.

My old man has just received a PCN from APCOA from parking at Gateshead Trinity, but I was with him when we went to validate his parking and the machine literally said "You do not need to validate your parking", so we done our shopping and then off we went. Did we miss something in this process that means he is now actually liable for the £35 fine and this is legit? Even if the carpark is a 4hr free stay and we were nowhere near even 1hr?

This is soooo simple to win, as long as the registered keeper appeals (not driver) and DOES NOT tick any box implying who was driving.

Add a final paragraph to that appeal:

Your NTK is non-POFA and I decline your invitation to name the driver.  Off you go.

It's really that simply? I use their online appeals form, copy and paste the other paragraph out my original post + include your line, and they'll just say... Ok?

That sounds crazy easy, but I guess they're doing this hoping people just pay up?

It's not clear from your post exactly when you 'validated' your parking.
Did you perhaps do that very soon after parking and then went off shopping?
That's why the machine said there was no validation needed - you hadn't been there long enough to even need to validate.
I think you're meant to do the 'validation just before leaving the car park.

Anyway, none of that matters. Just follow @Coupon-mad's guidance.

Just remember DO NOT IDENTIFY the driver. You have already have done that in your first post. Not as important on here but it is very easy to make that mistake by using things like "He parked..." or "My dad parked...". It is ALWAYS "The driver parked...", "The driver received a PCN..." or "The keeper received a PCN..." etc.
