Can someone guide me in the right direction how to deal with Staysure, I have lost 4 months of travel because they will not give me the ok to use insurance after a claim, I have been given wrong information, information not asked for. I have done everything required but still nothing. They allow me to upgrade at £30 only to be told Day later I cannot, any will be appreciated

Why would they need to give the OK after a claim to travel?

If the policy is still live, then you should be fine. Just the same as car/house insurance. You claim & it carries on. (In some cases car ins will end due to the type of claim, but that is clearly advised by ins co)

Exactly, the mix up was between underwriters and claims dept apparently, they were waiting for information that I was never  asked for.

We're all waiting for information you haven't been asked for so we can help.  You'll need to provide a more detailed timeline to get any meaningful advice.

What's the story, what dealings were had when?

    • Cruise booked Oct 22 had a fall at Airport and broke wrist so unable to travel, all medical evidence provided unfortunately only covered for £500 cancellation, appealed with no joy so I am awaiting Financial Ombudsman outcome.  It has taken the until Monday this week to clear up hold up/mix up, was told it was between underwriters and claims department.  The only thing holding us up was confirmation to travel by Consultants which was not asked for. The same problem affected travel companion.

What is the basis of your appeal -   you paid a premium which gave you £500?

they will not give me the ok to use insurance after a claim

Surely if the policy promised £500 in the event of cancellation, and that's what they've given you, they've complied with their obligations?

What are you appealing for? Is it that they've treated it as a cancellation when you're arguing it's something different?

You made a claim, they paid out or will pay out what the policy says it will pay out £500 for cancellation.

You will need to read the small print, the policy is probably now void in the event of a claim and you are now refused insurance with them so do read the small print.

You can try a different insurer who will cover you with full disclosure but it will be a more expensive
