Barclays have ceased storing personal documents, what are the alternatives?

Barclays has ceased storing documents, typically lacking customer focus, and so I am wondering where to store them, any alternative suggestions? I looked at Lloyds Bank, where I have a savings account, but according to the Guardian they lost someone’s documents!

Why rely on a bank? Use your own online or offline storage solution.1

I have a safe at home, I can't think of anything much important enough to go in it though.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

NatWest ceased that service many many years ago... 20? I had my house deeds stored there so they went off to a solicitor.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Metro Bank branches offer safe deposit box rental, if there's one near enough to you...
Evolution, not revolution1 -
HSBC used to offer safe deposit boxes. I don't know if they still do.1

You don’t say what sort of documents but there are options for the obvious important documents.
Wills can be stored at HMTCS

House deeds - Paper records have become obsolete but if your property is not registered then the obvious solution is to register it then the paper deeds become less critical.

Lasting Power of Attorneys - Make several certified copies and let your attorneys have a copy each.
