Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark frosty start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, sausages, beans and fried mash. Tonight I'm not sure but will organise when food shopping this morning. Few chores to do.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
We are taking our car for a service and MOT today so need to be up and at it as DH has a work call at 8.45am. Dinner tonight is chicken biryani - first time using our oven in 8 days. I will also make some BNS soup today in the soup maker. Last time I used it it got confused and I had to manually turn it off. Managed to rescue the soup but there was a burnt layer on the base of the soup maker which luckily cleaned off after soaking. Will see what happens today.
Hope all the poorlies are bearing up and those just out of the sick bay are enjoying their new found freedom. Still very frosty here but set to be a dry day with a high of 8 degrees
Back later.

Morning folks.Good luck with the soup maker Coxy, I hope it behaves itself this time.Later this morning I'm off to Glasgow for the weekend. My oldest nephew and only niece are both travelling up so I'm excited about it. I haven't seen my niece since 2017 when I went across to Oz for the funeral of the oldest Australian nephew, this time it'll al be much happier. I'll be away until Tuesday with a quick zoom back for delivery of the new DW.First I have my usual three way chat from Australia to have after which I can start my day properly.Muddy Walker - your mention of toasted cheese sent me to the kitchen to make some for lunch yesterday, it's one of my top favourites. One piece with ketchup and one with a crusting of milled black pepper. Deeply yum! 😋
Ruby - how was your day with a client? Yo did right to refuse the young lad, such a shame that he's turned violent.I'm thinking about our still missing and still poorlies. Happy Friday to all.12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC for the new thread. After two sunny days I think cloud is due back today but at least no rain. It seems a while since we had any.
I finally got round to cleaning the kitchen and bathroom yesterday but I was interrupted by a call from DD. She was taking DGD back to uni and stopping off en route for some shopping for her. Did I want to join them for the run out. It was a yes and not only did I end up paying for DGDs groceries I got carried away myself with offers and ys stuff. So of course both freezers are stuffed once more. I think I could have a problem and I wonder if there is a Food Hoarders Anonymous! I keep reminding myself I am no longer feeding a family but I don't listen.
So today is Friday Tidy and considering it got missed last week thanks to my chest infection I must make a bigger effort today. I caught up with washing last night and that was left festooning the back bedroom with the dehumidifier doing it's job. It feels almost dry this morning.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, recovering and the MIA. Topsy life sounds hard for you just now but what lovely neighbours you have helping you out. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your days off.Coxy, I don't use my ovens a lot, can manage day to day for the two of us with the combi microwave, little halogen, and slow cooker. On Sunday though the main fan oven will be on, Ds2 and family will be here, and possibly Dd and family, and I'll make a large roast dinner.Hello TA, welcome back, that lurgy certainly hit you hard.Snoozer, glad to read that Steve is improving.Rosy, I'm making remarks about you being in the Golf Club - we are actually members of the local cricket club, social members only of course! We go to a quiz there every Tuesday evening, have done for years, and like you, we have to be members because it's a private club. We would only be seen on the pitch if they needed a good laugh. You really seem to be feeling better now Ruby.Wasn't out at all yesterday, I just did house stuff. DH went to the caravan to fix a little leak in one of the windows. We've booked a site a few miles out of York for the week before Easter, so I'm looking forward to that.Snoozer, you said you were going into Cambridge i think. We caravanned near there a couple of years ago, and had a lovely time. We liked the city itself, took a trip on the river, and spent nearly a whole day in the Fitzwilliam museum.Thinking of our poorlies, it's ages since we heard from Nelski.Take care folks, stay warm.14

Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.
Enjoy your weekend away Gers.
It's a bit frosty here this morning. I have a wash load on and I'm hoping to hang it outside to dry (fingers crossed).
I have nothing else planned, so I'll probably have a walk to the village shop/PO for a TV Guide.
Hope everyone has a fab Friday. x9 -
Morning All
Cold, wet and dreary this morning, I've had the heating on to warm me up. Washing dried overnight so that's to put away.
Enjoy your weekend in Glasgow Gers, shame you have to come back for the delivery.
Glad you could get out for a while TA.
Hope you got on alright with your client Ruby, shame your other young lad is having issues.
Life sounds pretty tough for you at the moment Topsy, hope you can get some rest.
I'm going to DD's for lunch (we're having a subway salad!) and I'll go along and collect the little one from nursery, haven't seen her for a couple of weeks.
No walking with the dog today, they are going to NI for the weekend to visit relatives but will walk to the library for some new books.
Happy Friday, take care. XX12 -
Morning everyone, thanks for starting nmlc. A bit drizzly and grey today but warmer anyway. DH got on our nerves a bit last night- I'd had the log burner ticking over nicely most of the day. After we got back from dropping DGS at DS2s he absolutely loaded it up with wood and opened the vents, it was roaring away & when DS1 came in, wearing his thermals etc., he nearly passed out it was so hot! I was pretty warm doing the cooking too. I checked the room temp, 25.4 deg. so he got told offAh Scarlet, that must be it being a private club- it was owned by the council in the past but is a commercially run place nowTopsy, glad you have people to help you, sounds hard atmGers enjoy your weekend in Glasgow, TA your trip out sounds good,& Camelot enjoy seeing DGD and your subway lunch!Sorry to hear about the young lad Ruby, but you can't risk being hurt.Careful Iris if it's frosty- no slipping. Izzy bet you save quite a bit on leccy taking your stuff to work. I think I need to do some ironing, the pile is growing. These days I just fold it if its been in the TD, but some does need ironing.I think we'll have pizza for tea tonight. Have a good day all, love to the poorly and missing x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12

Take care all, keep safe and warm.

Morning everyone
I had to be up earlier this morning as I have an electrician here changing my thermostats to new ones - I really don't know what that entails but he was here sharp 8.30. I have to leave for work at 11 today so hopefully he'll be done by then.
Had my first appointment with the psychologist yesterday - it was ok but I really don't know how it's going to help with Long Covid - I'll keep an open mind though.
I've just realised it's my nieces birthday on Monday - I think I'll just put some money in with her card and maybes get a box of chocolates. I may have a suitable card already but if not I can get one tomorrow. She'll be 23.
Nice long chat with DD in Germany last night - she's just been given a new project at work so she's excited about that. She had just booked to go and visit her friend who's recently moved to Dubai -she's going sometime in March. She's always off somewhere!
I've waffled so now I've forgotten what everyone else said - I'll just wish you all a good day x
