EON-Next Bizarre Billing and Electricity Estimates

After a long struggle I eventually dot a credit refund from E-on and changed to variable direct debit. It can be done, just needs persistence and patience.
Good luck!

Get that, absolutely. But who builds the model that doesn't even use an average daily consumption in the split billing.[Deleted User] said:
It could be that their systems were set up to bill to the Cap change date of the 1st January.victor2 said:I had a similarly split statement from Eon Next covering December/January, even though it's a fixed tariff and with a smart meter. Took them quite a few days to produce it too.
Didn't bother me, as the total for the month was correct.
Could you try reducing your DD by the 10% they allow, then letting another statement go through, and knock another 10% off? Bit of a pain, but IME they are taking over a month to answer emails and even then you get a template response, which doesn't answer your question.Your life is too short to be unhappy 5 days a week in exchange for 2 days of freedom!0 -
i requested a credit balance refund on Monday and it was repaid yesterday. Seems pretty slick to me.2

Similar here. Requested at the weekend, money in account yesterday.
They actually said I could request any amount up to my full balance. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)1 -
Why wait? Which ever supplier you're with on the first of the month will pay you the government payment. It takes roughly two days to change to a new supplier (or at least it does when changing to Octopus) so you've plenty of time before next month.BikingBud said:
Also pressing for variable DD but cannot see that as an option you can select via the website , do you know different?pochase said:If you cancel your DD, there will be a rate increase of 7 to 9% as you lose the direct debit discount.
You should go onto variable DD as you don't like the fixed DD system.
I mean why would EON change a business model where they can apparently legitimately take what they want from customers and play the markets with our cash?
Once the last energy bill support payment is made then it will be switch time.1 -
I have changed to a Variable DD with EON which means they only take what inowe them. I got fed up of them wanting to increase my DD by large amounts when I knew I wouldn't use that much energy1

They probably produced these bills because the Government Cap and subsidy changed on the 1st January. It was only for E7 that the two increases didn't exactly align, so resulting in a net increase in rates.[Deleted User] said:

It doesn't surprise me that soem suppliers issued "extra" bills to register the change in their accounting systems.
It might be worth checking what your pre-subsidy rate is and whether you can see any increase on the 1 Jan. To preempt surprises when the subsidy ends.
I wonder if any suppliers will have used that invisible cap increase to sneak in rate rises for their customers - because it didn't result in a cost increase, they weren't obliged to notify everyone. So when the complaints come in later (April / May?) they will legitimately be able to say that it was applied months ago. I'm thinking that it may show up as notice for the next cap raise when everyone is notified "your rate is rising from x to y" and people realise that their x rate is not what they thought it was.4.3kW PV, 3.6kW inverter.
