£50 Inside Soap win, how to claim / is it a scam?

So apparently I won £50 from the crossword in Inside Soap magazine. I had an email from their junior editor telling me I had won, and that they need my updated phone number (which I had already included in my entry), and then I would receive an email from HSBC with how to claim via Paypal or BACS.

Well, I replied with my phone number again, and it's been over a week and had no email from HSBC or even a response back from the junior editor.

Starting to feel like this was a scam... Has anyone had this before?

You should get a letter with cheque rather than an email on low values & just a letter for a high amount to call them.

I got an email during lock down but that was a high value win.

I've had this before. The email took a while to come through but when it did I followed the link and claimed the prize no problem

Thankyou both for the replies! I guess I thought it would be sooner because the email seemed to come from a real person, but no worries! More than happy to wait for a prize
