Hi, probably in the wrong place, but have all businesses recently been made to check their accounts?
I have had 3 emails today from 3 different companies, saying they have reviewed my accounts with them, and have realised I wasn’t treated fairly, and are offering good will payments in the region of £200-500, seems like government have hit them with something.

No businesses have been made to check their accounts.
All lenders run regular audits.
The government haven't hit anyone with anything.1 -
Hi, so this is a scam?
Don't click on anything anywhere. And please don't give anyone your bank details. If they say you are due a goodwill gesture ask them to send a cheque.
If you've dealt with them in the past they'll have your address to send your cheque. Don't give your address to anyone.
Report the emails to Action Fraud.
That's what I think, anyway, for what it's worth.
Edited to add: on second thought, it's probably best to just report the emails, forward to Action Fraud - and then delete them without responding. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Although I do carry out careful research before posting and never intend to mislead or supply out-of-date or incorrect information, please do not rely 100% on what you are reading. Verify everything in order to protect yourself as you are responsible for any action you consequently take.0 -

That is the default way of most reputable companies shops , utility companies compensating their customers. For banks they will credit a small amount directly to your account.Do they ask you to click something ? Entering Personal, financial information ??
