mobile phones, network providers, wifi calling

Something called Tech Hut, £110. I hope I'm allowed to divulge this.
In my response earlier today I should have said "network providers" instead of "them" at the end of the second sentence. The phones that I bought appeared to be in mint condition with no indication that they came via Lebara or Vodaphone or any other network provider, but they do wifi-call.

I really don't understand why people buy Doro phones when for the same price you can get a far better Android phone and stick one of the simplified launchers on it that are specifically designed for use by people who aren't tech savvy or have a visual impairment. That way you'll get a phone that also supports basic features like wifi calling.1

In fairness to the op, I am not sure I am tech savvy enough to install a simplified launcher myself, and from the previous post the doro phone is now working with WiFi calling.
Personally I get the used phones my brother in law grows out of every two years, so I wouldn't know what you can or cannot get for £110 upfront. But it does sound a lot to me.0 -
You don't need to be tech savvy to install another launcher, they're just apps in the Play store and you install them in exactly the same way as you install any other app.savergrant said:In fairness to the op, I am not sure I am tech savvy enough to install a simplified launcher myself, and from the previous post the doro phone is now working with WiFi calling.

I’ve recently swapped my sim only deal from EE to Sky, purely for a cost saving. Small issue, I can’t presently get any reasonable reception indoors; everywhere it’s fine, but not indoors, despite their area coverage map showing I should get good 4/5G here. I can call friends via WhatsApp but that’s no use for anyone else. Sky looking into it, awaiting a response with interest.0

I have swapped sim only from Plusnet on the EE system to Asda on Vodaphone
Purely for the signal in my home and my town
Plusnet was none existent. Asda has 3 bars plus wifi calling and £2 less for the same deal.0 -

Sky use the O2 network, same as Virgin & Tesco, have a look at the O2 maps. Asda use vodaphone, AFAIK only plusnet & BT use EE (Since BT bought EE, Virgin moved to O2)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science

Virgin actually went to Vodafone after the deal with EE ended, they are in the process of switching customers to o2 now as they have now joined up with them.facade said:baser999 said:I’ve recently swapped my sim only deal from EE to Sky, purely for a cost saving.
