Pension Credit not paid today

Hi, my mum usually gets her pension payment today but wasn't in her account. She says she called and they told her that it's something to do with attendance allowance.
She gets attendance allowance and pension credit. These have been paid each month with problem for maybe a year, until today. Would anyone know what would cause it to be stopped? Nothing has changed in her circumstances.
Also the man on the phone told her he can't say when she will be paid.

Do you mean her State Pension payment or her Pension Credit payment.
SP is n't affected by AA. Entitlement to PC could be affected by the AA. You said she has had AA for about a year, does the AA got an end date on it?
    Does she live alone?
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • Hi thanks for the quick reply. She gets pension credit payment. I will have to ask her about the end date and yes she lives alone. Do you think it's the end date thing?

    Two possibilities occurred to me
    i) The AA award was only given for a short period and she has had a Severe Disability Premium included in the PC and the SDP would end if the AA ends, or
ii) She hasn't had the SDP included and they've just discovered she might be entitled and they've suspended the PC payments while they recalculate.

Does anybody claim Carers Allowance or the carer element of UC for looking after her?

Do you have access to a letter showing how her PC is calculated?

  • Nobody claims carers allowance for her. I will go to hers after work today and ask how her PC is calculated. Thanks so much.
