Troy Trojan X, I, O, S

Dear all,

I'm considering buying some of the above fund. On my platform 4 'classes' (if that's the right term) are available - X, I, O, S. I think S is for registered charities only, but the only difference I can see between the other 3 is a variation in fees (doesn't seem to be any other practical/financial difference to me). Presumably I could just go for the lowest fee (X in this case).

Would be grateful of any advice or clarification.

Thanks.

Different classes introduced at different times with different fees. Go for the cheapest available for your platform. Each fund manager has different class letters for their funds, previously used to be I (institutional) and R (retail) but it's moved beyond that now.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

They are all the same fund with different charging rates.  The standard one is Trojan O.  Platforms with large sales of the fund will be able to negotiate a decrease in fees and sell Trojan X.  Any one platform will only sell one charging class.

The same feature applies to many other funds.  There is no standard for what letter a fund assigns to each class.
  • Thanks both. This clears this up.
