Would Plans for double yellow lines show on the searches?
My friend moved to her property 1 month ago and 2 weeks ago they appeared he had no idea that this was planned and he probably would not have bought;.
can he do anything about this?

No, proposed Traffic Regulation Orders aren't something which I would expect to show up on property searches (or that would have generated notices going to the adjoining properties, so I doubt they could claim the vendor ought to have told them).
Though depending on the council, the proposals may well have been readily available on their website.0 -
I have checked the council and there isn't anything on there for it.
Ah well! he will have to walk a bit further for his car

can he do anything about this?If on-street parking is a necessity I would always make a direct and specific inquiry to the parking services department (possibly mentioning FOI) about any plans or proposals for parking control (not just for DYL).However, even if the result is negative, there's nothing to stop the authority introducing parking restrictions shortly after someone buys a property.Hence my general advice to people who need (or might need) parking space is to only consider properties with off-street parking they would own and have exclusive use of.0 -
Yep that would be another £100k at least on the property search. thanks for your message

I guess you'd get quite a bit more for the £100k than just a parking space though? The point is that you can't control what you don't own (and even what you do own isn't always under your full control).0 -
thanks for the reply
