Apple gift card voided!

Does anybody know what my consumer rights are concerning an Apple gift/top up card purchased at Sainsbury’s.
Short version- I purchased a £50 Apple gift card at Sainsbury’s while shopping only to find that when I tried to credit it a message said “code not valid”. Went back to Sainsbury’s only to be told that it was nothing to do with them and was directed to Apple. After multiple phone calls over 2 days and an investigation by the gift card team I was informed that the card had indeed been voided but they couldn’t do anything for me or give me any info about what exactly had gone wrong and directed me back to Sainsbury’s with a mumble about my consumer rights.
Their phone number came up as from cork in Ireland where I was told their head office is but the agent was actually in Portugal.
So before I head back to Sainsbury’s I am trying to find out what my rights are regarding this as they will probably say nothing to do with them again.
Any help gratefully received

Apple are correct, your consumer rights lie with Sainsburys, so it's them you must pursue.1

As above. You will likely have to escalate the issue within Sainsbury but they are liable to sort out your issue and then need to resolve the other element with Apple themselves.1

Your consumer rights are with Sainsburys. As Apple have now confirmed that the card had been voided, then take this information back to Sainsburys and ask for a replacement or refund.Mark0s said:Does anybody know what my consumer rights are concerning an Apple gift/top up card purchased at Sainsbury’s.Short version- I purchased a £50 Apple gift card at Sainsbury’s while shopping only to find that when I tried to credit it a message said “code not valid”. (If Apple didn't put that it had been voided in writing, then you need to go back to Apple and get this done, as you will need this as evidence to show that you have no spent it!)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1
