Balance Transfer from Amex to Sainsburys card

I have just applied for a Sainsbury's credit card and tried to do a balance transfer from my AMEX and after waiting for a week for the transfer to go through I thought I would message them through the Sainsburys account and this is the message I received 

I am afraid the AMEX balance transfer you have requested cannot be processed. Not all cards are eligible for a transfer, and this one falls into the category.

- does anyone know any card providers who allow transfers from AMEX?

Virgin has worked for me. Though I would speak to someone at the CC provider and check before taking out a card if accepting a transfer from Amex is essential.

Itried to transfer some of my Amex credit card balance onto a Sainsbury’s card last month and kept getting a message along the lines of ''due to the checks we do we have declined this transaction'' after trying 3 times I made a successful balance transfer from a mastercard so it seems Amex was the issue. On their information about balance transfers it said Amex was accepted so wether it was a mistake or that the automated system can’t cope with the card number formats of Amex I have no idea.
