Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark frosty start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO roast lamb, veg, mash, yorkshires and gravy - lovely meal on a cold night. Remembered to get chicken out to defrost for me to make chicken and mushroom pie for dinner tonight.
Half day today at the other office today.
Keep safe and well x

Morning. The cloudless sky last night was lovely, it was bursting with twinkling stars, later on the moon shone so brightly I had to close the bedroom blind. My good deed yesterday worked out fine. My neighbour managed to get into my car then slept for most of the way up the road. Her appointment took over an hour, luckily I managed to park right outside the practice, and then home. Again, she slept a lot. Once I dropped her off at home I zoomed into town to buy some fuses then I found a space outside the Indian takeaway 😊 so treated myself to two onion bhajis (love the sauce). I haven't had them for years so throughly enjoyed them.Later in my plumber neighbour called in to examine the dead dishwasher. He's confirmed that it's definitely lights out for it. A change of fuse made no difference so, after he left I got online and ordered a new one from JL.The old one is about 15 years old so owes me nothing. The replacement is coming on Monday next week which is both brilliant and annoying as it scuppers my family weekend in Glasgow. Still, the next delivery date would be 08 February which is too long away. I've chatted with my niece on WA about a slight change of plan.As for today, I'm still in bed watching dawn break and the tide turn. Later on my cleaner is coming so I'll take the opportunity to go out. We are forecasted for extremely high winds from this afternoon until tomorrow. The electricity network company have sent out warnings again. For now, I wish everyone a very happy

Morning All
Very windy out this morning, you had better batten down the hatches Gers as it will be worse where you are.
Had a nice trip out yesterday, good to be in the land of the living. Only bought a cushion in Ikea and a few bits in Sainsburys so I'm all topped up for now. We also went to the shop that gives away surplus food and got a couple of things there including a cauliflower curry and rice ready meal that I had for my tea, it was ok but I wouldn't buy one!
Decided to get some fitness back so I'll be taking my friends dog out for a walk, she's a bit stubborn but them so am I so it'll make for an interesting walk!
I called at the Drs to see about my fit note, they haven't done it and promised to email it to me yesterday but so far I haven't got it so will chase them up again today.
Enjoy your day out iris.
Hope you feel better soon TA.
Hugs to those not feeling too good.
Happy Wednesday, take care. XX

S'foggy...Freezing foggy at that.
Thick white frost over the field. The horses are leaving trails in it as they forage in the grass. It so reminds of the snail trails so see on pavements on damp mornings. Odd things amuse me
Felt sorry for the farmer this morning-trying to find the newborns in the fog. Just white blobs in a vast amount of whiteness. At least they make a racket so he and they should be ok.
Mrs M had to scrape the car inside and out this morning before tootling off to work.
Scuppered my plans for outside work today - everything is either white or wet!! There's another day tomorrow, or next week, or whenever!
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning, & thanks for starting nmlc. Enjoy your day with your neighbours Iris.Gers you sound like it was a productive day all in all- shame about the dishwasher. Onion bhajis are my favourite Indian starter.Yesterday my friend came and we tried a new place for lunch, one that my old neighbour told me about, fairly near to where we used to live. It's part of a golf club, but you have to be a member. I never thought I'd see the day when I became a golf club member but I am now
+ I got 10% discount off the meal! As is usual when we meet up, we talked and talked, as we hadn't met up since early Dec. so it was lovely. She dropped me back at home afterwards & then went to pick up her click & collect order of pasties from a shop down the road
, her late DM used to work there when we were young. That shop was the 1st one a family firm had, and they went on to expand the business which is well known in our town.
The chicken casserole was waiting in the sc when I got home, so I was glad I'd done it. One portion left for the freezer. Something with mince tonight, but realised we have run out of potatoes so it won't be shepherds pie! As it's school pick up day and we'll be later home it could be DHs fave( not mine) - mince & chips. Actually I might have the portion of chicken casseroleHope you enjoy your day, take care all x

Morning all
Sharp frost here and bitterly cold I will light the fire after this to warm the house through.
My SL worker is coming later just to catch me up on things that have been happening while I have been off, there has been trouble with the young lad with the overbearing mother so will wait and see what’s gone on !
Dinner tonight will be pork fillet with mash and veg, I also got some slices of lamb out which were left from a roast a while ago as I don’t think the pork Will do us all.Need to have a quick tidy through and will get the dogs out for a walk later.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Hi everyone,
Steve's birthday today and our first act was to ring the Dr, he is still really unwell and needs a change of antibiotics. Waiting for a call back now.
I have an appointment for an ultrasound at 7.30 and can't eat for 6 hours beforehand so that scuppers any birthday tea for me. At least I won't have to cook it, Laura and Brian have volunteered. Don't know what it will be, we had salmon in soy and ginger, new pots and veg for dinner last night. The sourdough cinnamon rolls were lovely but had a distinct lemony taste even though there was no lemon in them.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning all. Up waiting for a wood delivery. The clothes cull went well, I didn't finish putting everything back so a lot of it was humped onto the ottoman to do today. Half a black bag for the cs, half a white bag for rag, half a black bag of things to sell come the summer on ebay or some other thing and a few bits for friends to try. Yes, we can see what my problem is...My aquisitive nature is fairly evident..Bin day today, am hoping the recycle one comes this time, it didn't last time so the boxes are groaning with a months worth now. So todays excercise will be stacking wood, slowly and then filling the car boot up ready for everything to go tomorrow. And then I'll start in the garage.Rosy, your post is just making me very hungry, I want to eat everything!! mehefin, snail trails...::snort:: good to see you're feeling better. Izzy, after a certain age, we ALL sound like we're falling apart..Good luck at fc. hard to lose weight with an under active thyroid so well done...Gers, happy new dishwasher! shame about the other one...snoozer, hope you both get sorted soon...happy birthday Steve
Look after yourselves, blanket snuggle!

Happy Birthday to Snoozer's Steve. What a time to have an appointment, all that backlog is being cleared. It's a shame you can't have any of the celebration food.Iris - have a lovely day out, I'm waiting for better weather - should be around May time!Camelot - you're sounding much more relaxed, time off is such a healer.Izzy - my wee cottage is almost idyllic apart from the lack of central heating (no mains gas) and the stone walls. Not enough bad points to make me want to move away though. I was woken by a huge flock of geese circling around and honking like mad things, much better than the honking of cars.Rosy - the dishwasher has been a faithful machine for many years, at least it'll be recycled. The new one is the same make but with much more complicated controls, no more switch on and leave. Progress.
Your golf club lunch sounds perfect.
Ruby - I hope that all goes well with your meeting. Sounds like the young lad needs you again.Mehefin - what a lovely, though cold, image you have conjured up.I've whizzed round the house putting away the dry washing, folding the airer (why is that so difficult sometimes?) and tidying up the coffee table. My niece has agreed with the change of plans, it'll mean me doing a couple more trips up and down to Glasgow than I'd want but that's the way it is.My thoughts are with our poorlies and those recovering.10
