I feel like Brit Gas are fiddling my energy account. Raising DD way above usage, etc. Any advice?

Hi,
I meant switch supplier if you are so disillusioned with BG's fiddling.danieljm said:
Yes part of me is thinking of simply switching onto a variable DD. A fixed DD is just easier as I'm sharing and I can simply tell my housemate their share is X amount every month.frugalmacdugal said:Hi,
if that's your intention, why not just switch now?danieljm said:
I want to calculate the numbers down to the penny so I take take it to them and tell them to stuff it...0 -
Surely its easier to have a variable monthly DD when it comes to sharing - then you simply say - the bill £60.10 this month - your share is £30.10.
57 x 1.02264 x 40 / 3.6 = 647.67 QED
NB the 40 isn't fixed - it will vary a little from bill to bill depending on the quality of the gas.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
also am i reading right that your using an 'average' for the cost of jan and feb due to not being there a full 12 months yet?
if so you might want to think about just using whatever you had for december as december and january are the two months were most people use most of there gas for the year.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -
Yes I have took the total (KWh) as a mean for all days so far in Jan/Feb which should return an accurate enough estimate for up to the 20th this month. it isn't going to be bang on but should be very close to figure out a well informed estimate.ariarnia said:also am i reading right that your using an 'average' for the cost of jan and feb due to not being there a full 12 months yet?

Yes I understand this but come the time if and when we part ways/close accounts, my cousin will just get half of any credit left, or contribute half of any debt.Robin9 said:Surely its easier to have a variable monthly DD when it comes to sharing - then you simply say - the bill £60.10 this month - your share is £30.10.
