Do you regularly check your seller dashboard as although there seems to be leeway at the moment if they do go back to automatic strikes you might face issues. The first thing that happens is that a seller drops to just standard or even below standard and at that point private sellers lose the FVF promotions.
No I hadn't been. I just looked at the new seller hub and found the info. Apparently I've got one late out of 42 sales. I just noticed something which is interesting... the lates seem to be based on two things 1) tracking information 2) customer feedback

so if i don't put my tracking info into Ebay (as i generally don't) then i'd only be flagged if a buyer is bothered enough to mark it down as late. whereas if i did upload tracking info then every single item is going to be compared automatically presumably. so better from a data POV not to put tracking info.

Above Standard for now in any case.

If you check your estimated delivery dates using a different account or whilst not logged in does it change depending
on the time of day you check?

A few days back I checked an item (before 2pm) and the estimated delivery was Friday/Saturday,  I checked again later in the
Evening and it had changed to Thursday/Friday.  I did think what are Ebay doing because its less likely to get here sooner
when its so late in the evening. Checked the delivery and it was RM 2nd class.  No mention in the listing of a postage
change, it all looked the same.

I'm OK waiting a few days for delivery, but the thing which bugs me is sellers who mark things as despatched when they're not yet sent.
Despatched means sent; not marked for sending, not stuck a label on it, not ticked a box to shut ebay up, but sent.
If you are a seller and you mark an item as despatched when it isn't, then you are lying to your customer.

That’s an issue with the eBay site. As soon as you add the tracking number eBay marks it as despatched. Even if I’ve just bought the label in the evening ready for the parcel to be collected next day, the act of adding the tracking marks it as despatched.

Have to admit I do this all the time. Once something is packed and labelled and I know I'm going to the postie or drop off the same day I will mark it as dispatched on ebay. More for my own organisation than anything - that way the things which show up in my list to be sent I know I still need to pack and buy postage for.

If I'm working I do all my labels the night before which means they show as despatched so that my OH can drop them all at the PO as soon as they open the next day. Otherwise they would have to go a day later- and I suspect most buyers are hoping for their items as fast as possible.

As a buyer I don't mind it showing dispatched the day or evening before.  What got me was when I had an item marked dispatched 5 days before it was actually sent, according to the tracking!
