NHS Pension increases

You only get one communication a year from NHSBSA. You will get a letter in April with your new annual amount and how much will be paid each month. You also get your P60 and the pensioners newsletter. This was last years

That's great because one of the letters they send seemed to imply that she would not receive written notices - probably they just meant monthly payslips.GrubbyGirl_2 said:You only get one communication a year from NHSBSA. You don't get payslips - just an indication of the tax deducted from the reference they add to the back transfer0

It's incomprehensible why NHS Pensions cannot provide monthly electronic 'payslips' like I get from my private DB pension. It's incomprehensible why NHS Pensions don't provide any online services for individual pensioners.Flugelhorn said:You don't get payslips - just an indication of the tax deducted from the reference they add to the back transfer0 -
they don't provide anything comprehensible anyway - TRS was always 3 years out of date!nigelbb said:

actually having got the pension, I don;t need any more than the amount in my bank statement and the amount of tax in the reference - unless I am missing something?0 -
I agree, I'm not sure what else I'd need, it's all in the bank referenceFlugelhorn said:

I assume DB pensions are more likely to be consistent than salary.
My LGPS only gives payslips if the amount changes by more than a set sum. For an annual increase, or a change in tax code, I get a payslip in the month it changes, but not any more until there is another change.
That works for me - I can't see the point in repeating the same information every month.0 -
Well it would be nice to know the gross payment each month as it is easier to check something if you are going from gross. If you have to go backwards from net to gross using the tax code it's a bit trickier.0

You are given the monthly payment amount with a payslip at the start of the year. You will only get another if there is some change such as tax code change. The net amount can vary from month to month, usually by 20p, due to the way PAYE works. The bank entry will show the amount of tax paid in the payment reference. You can also generally see how much you will be getting in your personal tax account as they usually report ahead of the payment date.Pat38493 said:Well it would be nice to know the gross payment each month as it is easier to check something if you are going from gross. I can only speak for my Scottish NHS Pension where I do get access to electronic "payslips" (& they are actually labelled "payslip") every month.
They detail gross / net payments and deductions just like a run of the mill payslip.
