Old sound bar/new TV

I have an old but still very good sound bar which is connected via the old-school bare wire speaker cable.
My new TV only has square/round audio out sockets.
Is there such a thing as an adapter or specific cable to marry up the old and new.
Thanks in advance.

That soundbar is actually a pair of passive speakers stuck together. It/they would need to be connected to an amplifier which in turn would need to be connected to your new TV.
So no, there isn't an adapter or cable that allows you to directly connect your soundbar to your TV.

As above, they are extension speakers, presumably which either came with a Pioneer TV or were an optional extra. You could probably get an amplifier with an optical input which allowed you to cobble summat together but would you really want to.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

Not one that will work... unfortunately go on eBay etc and there are various impossible cables sold that will never work but sell as people think if the two ends are right it must work.flaneurs_lobster said:So no, there isn't an adapter or cable that allows you to directly connect your soundbar to your TV.
What model of TV do you have?Deleted_User said:My new TV only has square/round audio out sockets.
If you have an old stereo amplifier knocking about somewhere you may be able to use it if the TV has an analogue audio connection but most are digital only meaning you'd also need a DAC at which point you are rapidly approach the more hastle than its worth.0 -
Lots of TVs have an analogue audio connection labelled 'headphones'.
I have a variety of TVs and all have 3.5mm analogue headphone output including new digital set.0
