I have received a property alert from Land Registry as below. Out of curiosity, does what appears to be a code (P3) mean anything or is it just an internal code or reference from Santander?
XXXXXXXX = the name of the person, taken out by me

The activity details are:-

Application lodged by SANTANDER UK

On: 06.Feb.2023 At: 11:17:38

Customer reference: XXXXXXXX  (P3)
Credit card debt - NIL
Home improvement secured loans 30,130/41,000 and 23,156/28,000 End 2027 and 2029
Mortgage 64,513/100,000 End Nov 2035
2022 all rolling into new mortgage + extra to finish house. 125,000 End 2036

P3 looks like an internal reference, but it also looks as though a Santander system has not replaced "NAME OF PERSON (P3)" with the name of the Applicant - anyone who is a computer programmer migjht conclude that "NAME OF PERSON (P3)" is some dummy/placeholder text that is supposed to be replaced with a data value.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Sorry, I should have made it clear, I typed "name of person" tso that the actual name was not shown. I will edit the post to put XX's where the name was

Is there a reason why you're asking? Are you aware of the transaction which the alert relates to? (assuming the alert is actually for your own property - we've had examples here of people getting that wrong!)

I would expect the "customer reference" is just whatever Santander's conveyancers put down for their own purposes.

I added it to a couple that are mine that I am tracking (for family), and the notification came up. I was curious if it had a meaning before I pass it on to the relevant person. There is a very good reason they want to know due to past relationship issues

Ok. I doubt their reference tells you anything more about the transaction other than it involves Santander.

Have you called the LR and asked what P3 means ?

Or call the Property Alert team on 0300 006 0478.

It's Santander's reference, I doubt the LR know/care what it means.

Thanks all for your help. It most likely is something from Santander so I will just pass the information on and let them deal with it.
If there had been anything easily recognised the knowlegable people on here would have had the answer thats for sure :D

Because it's a customer reference - Santander are the customer (in relation to the application made to the LR).
