I moved from Bristol Energy (Together Energy) to EDF just before they went into administration. I had an outstanding credit balance of £549 with Bristol Energy which to date I have not managed to get back.
I have contacted British Gas who took over the Bristol Energy customers and EDF who I moved to and both companies say they are not responsible for crediting me back.
I have also contacted the Ombudsman as well. And they could not help either.
Has anyone else had this issue and if yes what did you do to get your credit back? Thanks

It's not EDF you need to be dealing with they have no involvement.
British Gas should honour your previous credit balance from Bristol Energy. Their FAQ page confirms this: https://www.britishgas.co.uk/solr#4I left my previous supplier before they went bust, what happens to my outstanding balance with them?
If your previous supplier had started to close your account, but you were still waiting for your final bill from them, then they will be finalising your account as part of concluding their operations. Any credit due to you will be transferred to British Gas – but please note this usually takes 8-12 weeks. On receipt of your credit, we’ll create a closed account for you and issue the refund to you. We apologise that the process is so long, but unfortunately it’s out of our hands. You can check your supplier update page above which we’ll update regularly and will tell you when we’re expecting the credits to come through.
Did you have a final bill from Bristol Energy? If so then you could raise a complaint with British Gas to see if they can do anything to expedite. The front line BG customer service staff won't have good knowledge of the SoLR process so raising a complaint might help. But ultimately you may just have to sit it out longer, you should get it eventually.

According to FRP, the administrators of Together Energy(Bristol Energy) , they have "ceased operations" and are in the process of handing over all debt collection activity to their agents. No mention in the latest statement re disputed credit balances which should have all been communicated to BG prior to the TE total shutdown at the end of November. It's a total mess !!0

I am a previous Together Energy customer transferred to BG. Their website states that all credit should have been applied to accounts by now. I have yet to receive the £630 credit I am owed.0

On what basis has the Ombudsman refused to assist you? Have you already been through BG's complaints procedure and got a deadlock letter or waited 8 weeks? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
