Car insurance and maternity leave

A friend is looking to get car insurance. She's just gone onto maternity leave. Does she use her job to search for quotes or state maternity leave, house person or similar? Will one be cheaper than the other and can she legitimately choose either?

If she is on maternity leave then she is still an employee and still a finance director or cook or whatever it is they normally do. If she has no intention of returning to work then possibly they could choose houseperson or independent means however these often attract higher premiums than your average job.
Assuming she is the sole user of the car in theory should could buy just SD&P but the saving is likely to be more than offset by the admin fee to change it so SDP&C or Business1
