Sofas

I've been looking at the Kian 2-seater sofa from DFS.

Has anyone got this, and if so what do you think of it?

Alternative suggestions for a 2-seater sofa (no wider than 1.7m).

We've got the Milner on order from Oak Furnitureland if you can stretch to 1.76m. It's quite nice and firm, I felt a lot of the ones in DFS were very soft and slumpy.

ETA wouldn't order the Milner at the moment, we got it for £575 (Plus extra for insurance and delivery). Currently £780. Wait for a sale.

What do you mean by 'Insurance and extras'?

You'll find when you order a sofa they will upsell you for cover for damage - tipping wine over it, pets scratching it, that sort of thing.

Then there's delivery charges - will they deliver it to your door, will they deliver it to your desired room, will they put it together if it requires some assembly, will they take away the packaging, will they take away an old sofa. All of this is available, at varying degrees of expense.

Which delivery option did you get?

Also, do you know the timing of their sales?

Sorry, I've edited my post, the extras were on top of the £575. We paid £29.99 for room of choice delivery, and £57.49 for the furnitureguard insurance. Most retailers offer this insurance, we've bought a sofa from Sofology and got it there as well. I turned down the 'cleaning kit' as we have one coming with the Sofology sofa, but OF chucked one in free anyway with the order. I ordered online. Sofology would have charged £89 to take away and recycle an old sofa.

Sorry, don't know the timing of their sales, but I'd have thought Easter and any bank holiday weekend would be a good chance.

Thinking about sales, I think items need to have been up for a higher price for 28 days in the previous 6 months before you can claim they are a sale item, so given we bought ours in the January sale, I'd think it's unlikely that you'll get a sale before the end of February at the earliest. But sure as the sun rises, there will be another sale in OF and DFS.  Sofology don't do sales.
