Access to accounts after Bankruptcy

RAS said:Set up a new basic bank account with no overdraft with a bankruptcy friendly company. Barclays and Co-op are good if you've no debt with their banking group. Or someone like Starling. Do NOT switch accounts as that moves all you DDs as well.
Move your bill DDs across to the new account. Get salary paid in, pay out DDs, draw cash to survive. Submit BR application.
Thanks RAS, already have a Starling account with no overdraft etc. All my essential bills and wages are done through this account. My question is though, will this account get frozen when I submit my bankruptcy? or if there is no debt on that account, does the OR just leave it alone as long as there isn't an excessive amount of money in it?

The OR will notify your bank and if it's your day to day account will tell the bank they have no interest in the account.
Just remember it's the banks that freeze accounts not the OR1 -
Thanks luvchocolate. Do we have a rough idea of how long after the bankruptcy is granted that the banks are told?

Sorry I don't know the answer to that as I didn't have my account with Co op frozen.
All i can suggest to plan the date to work with DD and payment going in.
Draw some cash out if possible to tide you over.
Sorry I can't be more helpful but someone else will be along.1 -
So just a quick update, filed for bankruptcy on the 2nd (Thursday) around midday. Was getting slightly anxious this morning as it was still showing as not approved (even though I know they have ages to approve it, so no idea why I was panicking). Was just approved at 13:00 today. Now waiting for the OR to call me and set up the interview.Would it be helpful, as I know some people have already done on the forum, if I give updates and a timeline on each stage of the process and how it happened for me? I obviously don't want to be duplicating information, but I would like to give something back to the forum as everyone has been so helpful.0

No contact with OR yet, so Friday I set about trying to get in contact (and getting pushed round the houses). Whilst I was on the phone waiting, up pops an email from the OR, telling Starling Bank that they have no interest in the account or any monies in it. So thats a good start. Finally got through to a very nice lady, who said they are extremely busy at the moment, so just to be patient. She made a note on my account that I had phoned in, so that at least covers me.Now onto starling. Spoke to them, the advisor was helpful and sympathetic but obviously didn't know what to do. So they have passed it on to their customer service team, and he said they would be in contact. Getting a bit close with my wages being paid, and not knowing what Starling will do, so I've pre-emptively opened a Monza account, which got accepted with no problems. So now at least I know I will have at least one good account that I can use.0
