I'm more of a Jackson Pollock guy, or I'm pretty sure that's what people say, hard to hear when they mutter under their breath ;)

So anything that I do have, like laptop etc, should I list as the new price that I bought it for, or what I could realistically get for it now?
  • They are not interested in normal household items at all only that Jackson Pollock stashed in the attic 😀

I remember Tommy Cooper saying that he found a Stradivarius and a Rembrandt in his loft.

The only problem was Stradivarius couldn't paint very well and Rembrandt made rotten violins

Is the laptop super spec gaming model worth thousands, or a normal one for a bit of everything?

It's a decent one, was 900 new, but that was a year ago, and the processor is now a generation old. I would imagine the most I could get would be 400-500 if the timing was right etc.
  • Then the OR has no interest in it as it’s a normal household item.

thanks FFF. I just want to make sure I declare everyhting I should. My view is better to list something and them say no interest, rather than not list it and it's something I should have
  • Had my chat with stepchange (who really are excellent) and they have confirmed that BR is the way forward for me. Just a quick couple of questions on how fast things move. I understand it varies how long it takes for the application to be processed, but once BR has been granted, how quickly after are your accounts locked? For my main account, with no debt on it, I assume that gets locked as a matter of course. If this is the case, how long would it normally take for the OR to declare no interest in it, and for that to be unlocked? Just thinking about bill payments etc for that first month while things get sorted out.

    many thanks in advance

Set up a new basic bank account with no overdraft with a bankruptcy friendly company. Barclays and Co-op are good if you've no debt with their banking group. Or someone like Starling. Do NOT switch accounts as that moves all you DDs as well.

Move your bill DDs across to the new account. Get salary paid in, pay out DDs, draw cash to survive. Submit BR application.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
