British Gas New Electric Drivers Tariff
Whilst looking at a popular EV forum -  noticed that members there were mentioning a competitive tariff to the current Octopus GO offering.
This one from BG offers 5 hours (12am to 5pm) at 12p per Kilowatt Hour, with peak rate that varies by region https://www.britishgas.co.uk/energy/ev-tariff-home.html
In my area (Merseyside) the rates quoted after I did an online quote today were:
- Standing charge: 48.688p per day
 - Peak unit rate: 47.562p per kWh
 - Off Peak unit rate: 12.000p per kWh

In my area the comparative Octopus GO rates are - with 4 hours (12.30 to 04:30)
- Day unit rate: 44.28 p/kWh
 - Night unit rate: 12 p/kWh
 - Standing charge: 47.04 p/day

Probably for me not quite enough to make me switch come the end of my current fixed term in April, but really good to see a competitive EV tariff in the market. Hopefully for others where the 5 hours might be the deciding factor this could work out, and the bigger hope is that other EV tariffs will come along in the near future.
