I wonder if anyone has the same issue
I am trying to change to Octopus Energy and when I click on smart meter and enter my address it states: records show I have selected wrong type of meter
They are smart meters but I used to be on economy 7 a few years ago
I don’t want to go on Economy 7 tariff as it’ll cost me more
So do I select Economy 7 meter to initiate the change and then swap tariff once I’ve changed or do I go ahead with selecting Smart Meter?
I’ve emailed Octopus but not received a reply

Give Octopus a call tomorrow and do the switch over the phone would be my suggestion.
