I never use Packlink etc, but I do use eBay labels to purchase a Royal Mail label. Remember eBay offers all the standard services too - you don't have to use PackLink etc. Once purchased I drop off at the Post Office and retain the receipt as my proof of postage.
I thought all the postage purchased on eBay went via Packlink. So its Royal Mail via packlink or Evri via packlink or DPD via packlink etc.
No, its 'proper' RM. To use Packlink services you follow a separate link that takes to you through to another site to book the delivery etc. If you simply go through to print a label on eBay, but do not choose any Packlink service (ignore the banner at the top), you can purchase and print off a standard RM label, then drop it off at the post office, and it goes through the RM network as normal, and can be tracked as such. I use it all the time.
Just like soolin stated above, any compensation claim goes directly via RM.
