Got hit by another car. Can Aviva pass me on to Carpenters Insurance

HI
As per title, I got hit by another car. I started a claim with my insurers Aviva. However today got a txt that Carpenters had been trying to reach me (no missed call from them) and that I should get in contact as soon as possible. Then an email as well , saying Aviva had passed me on to them to deal with the legal and insurance side of things. So I have looked them up and look legit but extremely bad review on Trustpilot and the like.
My question is can Aviva actually pas me on to them? If Aviva works with other insurers, can I ask for a better company to deal with. I have enough issues of my own now to have to chase this new company.

Their email below:

We have today been asked by Aviva Online to act on your behalf in connection with the recovery of your uninsured losses arising out of the above accident but have been unable to make contact with you by telephone to discuss this matter further.

We will endeavour to recover all of the losses you have suffered as a result of this incident, including compensation for any personal injuries you may have suffered.

We simply require contact from you confirming that you are happy for us to continue to pursue this aspect of your claim on your behalf. We need to discuss the circumstances of the incident and nature of your losses as soon as possible to ensure we are able to assist you in the best possible way. We will then send you further information explaining the claims process.

Thanks

They are the personal injury lawyers used by Aviva group.

If there are no injuries or you wish to use another company tell them and they will close their file.

In The Olden Days, you simply claimed off your insurance when you had an accident, and if it wasn't your fault, your insurer would sort this out, claiming your excess, taxi fare home etc. from the other party.

Nowadays, they can't be bothered, and do all they can to avoid doing any work (you gets what you pays for, they keep their prices low by doing away with the staff who would have done this), so it is down to you to claim it back yourself, or to use a claims management company to do it for you (and add on their cut, plus a nice back-hander to your insurer- the "referral fee")

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

Carpenters are lawyers not insurers. As their email says, they are dealing with your uninsured losses which will be under your legal expenses cover... most obviously is recovering your excess but they'd also deal with any injuries etc.

Unlike what some above are saying, from what you are saying Aviva is still dealing with your insured losses

Ambulance chasers and trying to sign you up to costly loan cars. Avoid.

    Carpenters are useless!
For over a year I have been answering emails each time about an incident 3 years ago but no relevant replies?
Last time I actually spoke to them I was told that they were representing BOTH sides in a car accident incident!
Yesterday I was told the case had been resolved with the other side winning and my claim couldn't be pursued!!
