Hi all, anyone got any recommendations for a decent credit card company?
What I'm looking for is:
I used to have a Tandem card which ticked all the boxes but unfortunately the company didn't last!
Thanks
What I'm looking for is:
- instant notifications to phone of any transaction
- Mobile payments with Google Pay
- Some kind of reward scheme (ideally)
- No annual fee
- No fee for spending abroad
- Decent mobile app

Thanks

You're limited by the no forex requirement, so you'll need to choose from the small handful that offer that, such as Clarity. However, you'll need to choose between no forex and rewards.
'Decent' mobile app is subjective. I can manage to use any banking app, but I know many people can't cope unless it's cutting edge.0 -
Yeah, most of the fintech ones have free foreign payments, thats why I was heading that way.
As for the mobile app, agree its subjective. As long as it isn't awful I'll be happy!0 -

Most of them are debit cards, not credit cards.
Is there ANY credit card that shows retailer logos and exact time of each transaction?

Pretty much every provider (except Barclaycard, although they have confirmed it is coming) supports Google Pay.
Amex transactions get reported immediately to me via Google Wallet and Samsung Pay regardless of whether I use G Pay, Samsung Pay or the card itself.
Decent mobile app is very subjective, I find all the credit card apps I have used regularly to be at least adequate (Natwest, Barclaycard, Sainsburys Bank, Tesco Bank, Amex, Virgin Money, Halifax, Lloyds, MBNA) but Amex is probably the most feature complete.
Amex have the most compelling rewards offers, including a couple of no fee options, but all have FX charges.
The only rewards + no annual fee + 0 FX product that comes to mind is the Barclaycard Reward Visa. Might be one to check out once they support Google Pay.
Lots of options for 2 out of 3 tho.
No FX + Rewards:
Santander all-in-one
Tesco Bank Clubcard Plus Credit Card (not to be confused with Tesco Clubcard Pay+..!)
Rewards + no annual fee:
Asda
Co-op Members
Tesco Bank
Sainsbury's Bank
Barclaycard Avios
Virgin Atlantic
M&S Bank
Halifax/Lloyds Cashback Credit cards
Amex Cashback
Amex Reward
No FX + no annual fee:
Halifax clarity
118 118 money
Natwest
Virgin Money
Zopa
The other future one to look out for is Chase - their first UK credit cards are expected soon and might be tied to Amazon in some way.2
