    Are you a first time buyer and using a mortgage advisor? Or are you going directly?

    Reason I ask is some people on this site have had a full mortgage offer from Skipton in 4 days when applying through an advisor.


    It was through broker. 
  • Yes agreed from friends who have used Skipton they are normally quite quick. 

    Have you completed on your purchase now and do you know if any further checks were done post offer
    I am still waiting for offer from Skipton. Hopefully should hear something by Monday. It will be 10 working Days from the date of application. I will keep the post updated.

    Mortgage balance May 21 £177,096.19. Now £146,747.17
    Mortgage free date. At start of sole mortgage = July 2042

    2024 SAVINGS FOCUS - get rid of the car finance. Savings balance/outstanding balance = £11,857.56/£12,706.25
    2025 Savings Focus - 33.3/33.3/33.3 split; savings for house renovations (bathrooms/garden/kitchen; whichever collapses first), save for a family holiday (probably our last one!) and paydown/offset the mortgage
