CCJ from charge in 2016

Hi all

I was looking at loans over the weekend and while doing a credit check, I discovered that I had a CCJ on against me that I had NO idea about.

After doing a lot of chasing, it turned out that this had been for an unpaid parking fine (that I also didn't know about) from 2016.

It's currently sitting at £369 and the contact between myself and the courts is very sparse from their end and a lot of their appeal forms come with a lot of charges that I also can't afford.

Seeking any advice anyone can give me

Thanks

Chris

Bear in mind  the ccj drops off your file after 6 years and if they're not pursuing it now, it's unlikely to be a problem after 6 years

If the CCJ is dated at any time in 2016 then it should have dropped off your file in 2022.
Was this a 'fine', or a private parking charge? Very different things.

Parking companies do obtain CCJ`s against unpaid parking tickets, but most of the time the judgement just sits on file, and is not pursued.

If this is from 2016, surely it would have been removed by now ?

I have no idea, I've had no paper work whatsoever. The only info the court has given me now is the name of the claimant and the date. I can chase that up at least.

I imagine the charge was in 2016 so will run its course this year depending on how quickly the CCJ was put through.

These guys will sell you details but they say not of claimant (that must be new because I found out about a claimant from them years ago

    https://search.trustonline.org.uk/Search/Person

So you are supposed to call the Court (you might need the ref number from the above service)

If the Court tells you it is a Council then I heard they are sold off (debt collectors still chase them whether valid or not) callers contact radio shows with longer than six years.

If it was a private parking company then who cares.
