They drilled about 30 holes in the walls and used a machine to blow it all out. Ours wasn't really wet but had separated so left large cold spots.

I'm sure I watched a video about removal and it only involved 2 holes so I was a bit shocked to see them all. They also drilled through the chimney breast by mistake 🙄.
