Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was roasted chicken portions, roasted potatoes and veg - DH moaned but ate it, I ignored.
Now on days' off until Monday, have several chores to do today.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your days off.Our electricity seems to have been off through the night, when I came downstairs and went into the kitchen the oven and microwave clocks were blinking, the oven clock said 1.22, so it must have gone off then. It's back now anyway. We had a quiet day yesterday, I wish I'd tidied the garden, it wasn't a bad day. However, it will get done. Not much planned for today either, dear me, what boring lives we lead!Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of our poorly people.Take care folks10

Morning all.ScarletRibbons I know what you mean about a boring life at the moment. I think we go into hibernation in January. Spring will soon be here though. Bought some daffodils last week and they've just started to open so that's a nice reminder of what's to come!Off to do a weekly shop today as I don't work on Fridays. Also have to buy some new top sheets for the bed. I was making it the other day and was a bit heavy handed and tore a hole in the top. I don't know my own strength! Not sure what's for dinner tonight. I'll see what takes my fancy while I'm shoppingHave a good day everyone.10

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
WFH today and then we are off to see Plane with Gerrard Butler. Next on the list is The Whale with Brendan Foster. It's our main social activity! Dinner is SW chicken supreme with rice. I need to pop out for quark and some button mushrooms. Will also pick up more fruit. The loaded sweet potatoes were surprisingly nice and we have 2 portions of the smoky turkey mince frozen for another day!
DH lost a nosepiece from his glasses so had to order new frames. Went yesterday to have the lenses swopped over. He was sat doing a crossword last night and one lens (for his worse eye) fell out. Will have to go back there today – so annoying! I went to get two new tyres for the car yesterday. It's due the MOT and service next Friday and we knew the tyres were needed. Would rather pay a local independent than the main dealer but still £240!
All good thoughts with you today @Muddy_Walker for your treatment x
Glad you have good support for the school remaining open @dp1 - let’s hope there’s a positive outcome x
Get well soon @camelot1001 x
I hope you manage to dodge the lurgy @RosyRed!
Have a good day allCoxy

Morning folks.Dawn is peeking out already, makes a nice change. Chrisca, you're not alone in hibernating during the dark months. My journey down the peninsula yesterday was good on the way down and then really lovely on the return trip as the bad weather had cleared. It's a single track down so never going to be a fast drive which brings time to enjoy the scenery. The hairdresser's village had been hit by a lightning strike which hit the electricity substation knocked out the power for two days. A lot of broadband routers has also been fried and mobile coverage had been badly affected too. Power came back on Wednesday night but they had a dead router. Whilst I was sitting in my foils the Openreach engineer appeared to sort out their line which meant he had to climb the pole.Anyway, my appointment went well, cut and colour done for another eight weeks. When I got back home I made some food (chicken with salad and veggies) and slobbed.Today will have to be my late monthly banking update. That's as exciting as it gets, I'll be joining Scarlet in having no meaningful plans.Coxy - enjoy the cinema. Cinema is one thing that I miss living here, it's always a trek up or down to see a film. We do get the mobile cinema every few months which fills a small gap.Right - I'm off to start my day. It may involve a white wash, no sign of my plumber friend yet so back to washing dishes by hand which I have always hated doing. 😀
I hope that everyone is doing well'ish or better. Happy Friday to all.10 -
Morning All
Another cloudy day here, makes no difference as I'm not going anywhere! The most I will do today is have a shower and put a wash load on.
Hope you get your dishwasher fixed soon Gers.
Thinking of you today Muddywalker.
Enjoy the cinema Coxy, I haven't been for about 5 years! Hope DH gets his glasses fixed, very annoying.
Managed to get to the hairdresser yesterday, it's only 5 mins away and I had cancelled last week so felt I had to go, didn't take long and I don't look quite so wild!
Right, off for a shower and clean PJs, have a good day, take care. XX

Morning everyone
The wind has dropped at last - I've been out and stood the bins back up. I have work at lunchtime, but will be glad when I've been and home again as I'm so achy and tired this week. I had a doctors appointment for Wednesday but it was cancelled as the doctor was ill - hopefully I'll get to see her next week.
Our Home Bargains store in town closes today as they are opening a new one in an out of town retail park. There are already a lot of empty shops in town but with the closure of this one it's going to look awful as it take up a big corner site. I like a look in a charity shop but soon that's all we're going to have left.
Well I'm going to get a few jobs done. Hope everyone has a good day today x8 -
Hi everyone,
We had a terrible night last night. Steve had a very high temp and the awful cough so he has gone to the dr now. Then Esben was screaming for mummy, went into her room and screamed at her to get Esther out of the room. Luckily Esther, who had been feeding, went down like a lamb and fell asleep. It didn't make for a restful night.
I'm wondering whether I ought to cancel our lunch booking for Sunday to celebrate Steve's birthday. I had to pay a £90 deposit because I had to book the little ones in to get the space as well as the adults so I will cancel if that is refundable, if not I will leave it.
Rosy, I hope DGD is better today.
I can't remember who said they had a treatment but I hope it went/goes ok.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all, wet here. After a pretty hectic day yesterday, I have a fairly relaxed one(hopefully) Don't even have to pick DGS up with DGD still off school, and at her Mum's until later, DS can get them both. She is much better but her school has a 24 hr rule after sickness. My Oca do delivery was 5 mins early, just 1 item missing so I'll have to rejig the Sunday meal. It was bavette steaks. I already had 1 in the freezer, and they cook really well in my Ninja grill. Never mind, there'll be something suitable in the freezer. We'll probably treat ourselves to a takeaway curry tomorrow night, it's DS1s birthday, and we'll be at the match in the afternoon.Muddy, rest up after your treatment & hope it goes well.Dp1, sadly our town centre is getting like this, and the big M/S is a big imposing building too, it'll be a big loss when it shuts in April. There isn't even a bus from town up to the retail park where the next nearest isWhat a shame about the power outages Gers, poor people without power, then having to sort out new routers etc.Coxy, we really should use our cinema more.Salmon for tea, so that's quick.Take care of yourselves x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Cold here today with a sharp wind but I don’t need to go anywhere apart from for a walk with dd and the dogs, we took them out yesterday with dd holding the leads till we could let them off in the field, I managed to do two miles which I was really pleased with but I came home had lunch and fell asleep for two hoursI’m sure it must have done me good though so will try the same today.
I have put a wash on this morning which is just about to finish so that can go on the airer.
Dinner tonight will be chicken goujons and chips so nice and easy.
Have good days all and take care xx9
