ok, am I going to be the first person to admit that not only have I had a bad MSE day but a pretty awful MSE weekend!
    - wont go into detail but messed up big time, spent a terrible amount of money on friday night, had to buy a horrifically expensive train ticket on saturday so I could deal with family emergency at the last minute (long story) - so wrapped up in emergency spent money without looking and as a result didnt get a chance to do my usual organised grocery shop.
Plus am working overtime at work till all hours of the evening this week and as a result overslept this morning, so here it goes - eek, your all going to recoil in horror.
2.90 for breakfast because I overslept due to working late the night before
1.50 for coffee at lunchtime - skipped lunch in order to compensate for buying breakfast - and didnt have time to make any this morning
£3 because I ate one of the my flat mates freezer pizza's last night when got home - due to inability to do anything constructive after 15 hour day or something - booo!
£5 on wine (last night) because of said horrific weekend and long day.
Anyway - promise I will go shopping later, plus dont need to buy that much as have freezer stash of homemade stuff
    - so will be money for porridge oats for breakfasts
    - eggs - so can make salad for lunch tommorow
    - promise I will be good for the rest of the week!!
anyone else trip up today - now, dont tell me you are all saints :A !!
I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!

Thanks, fortunately emergency is all sorted out now, and no permenant damage - you gotta be thankful for that. Also, thanks to MSE budget I had reserve money to buy train ticket so I could dash half way across the country at the last minute - Those train ticket prices really are scandalous!
    - Overtime is quite well payed, so as long as I get groceries sorted out and dont spend it all on wine ;) I should be back on track by the end of the week!

    Hey Eliza

Glad to hear that all is ok (got your other message, will reply soon) - dont worry about the temporary glitch, we all have them - fab that you had reserve ££££ to buy the train ticket :0) Do you qualify for a young persons travelcard? They give you a 1/3 off rail travel & do make a difference.

I just got back from my 2nd i/v, it went really well - another girl has got hers at 3pm, so should hopefully hear at some point tomorrow or Friday. Eeeek. I really want the job, but dont want to get my hopes up. It went well, but you never can tell can you? Oh well.

Just had my salad for lunch, it was ok - a good feeling not to have spent any £££, im such a scrooge nowadays - ive gone from one extreme to the other.

Hope you're all having good days.

miserable weather has helped as that meant i stayed in for lunchtime, not that i would have taken any money out with me anyway but i mustve saved money on shoe leather.

  • This thread is an excellent idea - it will certainly make me think twice before I spend if I have to confess to any naughty purchases!

So far today I had to cough up £10 sponsor money but I'm not planning to spend anything else today.

I brought last night's leftover dinner in for my lunch to heat up in the microwave. Unfortunately the whole office now stinks of fish so I am NOT popular today! Might just bring a salad tomorrow tee hee....

    Hi All

Today had my grocery shop from Tescos delivered. Totalled £55.99 but after vouchers and Bogofs etc, it was £33.55 inc delivery  Got 2 huge 3kg chickens on Bogof at £5.99 for the 2! Wont have to do much of a food shop next week.

Also won a pair of Shelly Boots from ebay for £12 inc postage. Worn 2 times only and I know there over £90 a pair :D

So all in all very good day and quite money saving..lol.
