Annual policy taken out with a declaration of joint pain/wear and tear for which I was offered physio after taking out the policy when it got worse. I’ve been going to physio and they’ve now said it might be sciatic? But a referral to advanced physio is going to be about 16 weeks and my holiday is before then.
So I phoned the insurer to update them and they have now excluded the “undiagnosed condition“ with no option to add it onto the policy.

So I’m left in a situation where the pain and effects are exactly the same but the label may be slightly different. I know insurers don’t like it when you’re waiting for tests and results. So my options are to travel without cover for that condition or see if I can get cover elsewhere but without a formal diagnosis I don’t know how feasible that might be? Any suggestions anyone.

I’m not expecting to need to claim but then you never do, do you?

Your classed as under investigation so I highly doubt you will get full cover elsewhere.

Your lucky your insurer just excluded it. When I was under investigation for a medical condition everyone except Aviva refused to cover me at all. Aviva excluded the medical condition and covered me for everything else.

You wont get cover elsewhere for an undiagnosed condition, many will refuse to insure you at all.

It's a little confusing on what's actually changed since you took it out? Sounds like it was undiagnosed from the outset

Got knee pain, had scan and physio which sorted it.  Checked GP records which said age related  wear and tear, took out insurance on that basis.

Pain returned, went for more physio.
Physio initially agreed it was the same issue. Exercises made no odds over several months. Physio then decided it might be sciatic instead and referred upwards.

Which is where I am now - waiting to see the next level person.

    Hi all :)

    Update.

Speaking with a friend earlier today, I recall posting on a thread about ins cover and going overseas.

My friend confirmed as per @SaverRate that i tis very highly unlikely any insurance outfit would cover
a medical condition that was undiagnosed

so if anyone is thinking of going off on a jolly for a cheap hols before the kids have their summer hols, you are most likley not covered and won't be going, unless you want to take that risk.

Going on a nice  hols ie to usa and going without proper cover, they will hound you for every penny should you break a leg etc over there  - so take out insurance cover and be aware of what it does not cover and what it covers

    Thanks
