So my Greengage suffered from the drought being only in for a year prior and maybe something else.
I'm not sure if it will survive or not. Pruned back the dead wood and while still alive there are no signs of buds.

Because it's one of my must haves I was looking at some in the garden centre but wasn't sure about some markings.

Darn it's blurey! But the pale blurred patches are beige and papery. Could anyone stab a guess?

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

  • I'll stab a guess (an uneducated one!)

You say it's papery, does it lift off? What's underneath it? Healthy stalk or manky innards?
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.

    Thanks Blue. Good thought.
I was going down again today to try and get better photos.
I'm pretty sure it was not papery or peelable but flush. I'll check if I can do so discretely on a Saturday.

I've seen similar on young apple trees, maybe just new wood spots for unknown to me reason?
The trees mine were on grow just fine
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens
  • I was thinking if it was perhaps like an onion skin, dead layers but the underneath’s alright.

Maybe the staff would be of the helpful sort 🤞🏻

The staff want to sell me a tree at £50!

I have a gardening friend who works there Wednesdays who'd be honest but I'm afraid of loosing the one perfect for the spot. The others aren't as well formed.
