I see VM have been (until Feb 5) offering their Big Bundle to new customers for  £29.99 per month. That covers 264mbps broadband, freeview channels, TV 360 box and weekend calls. What do you reckon is a realistic target price for existing customers after the latest mid-contract price rise. I currently pay £34 a month for those services and still awaiting the dreaded email before battle begins!

£29.99 especially as from next year the price increase is 3.9% + RPI and you cannot cancel

£29.99 is what I will be asking for. If they cannot give it to me then I will be cancelling and either moving away from them or setting up as a new customer.

Virgin Media are jokers to be honest, they are trying to increase my price by 34%, why we have to go through this every year is beyond me.

It does seem incredible that a business can put you under contract and then just shift the goalposts half-way through with a huge increase. Then they inject these loyalty bonuses into the equation  which threaten big rises when they come to an end. The haggling process can also be a lottery with a good result on one day or offered next to nowt on another before trying again.

When you read of other people's tariffs, you often see people on the exact same package paying hugely more because they haven't haggled regularly or just got the wrong person on the phone at the wrong time.

It's extra difficult when you live in an area where there is no other fast fibre option to Virgin  and only providers offering broadband run with a bucket of coal.

Oh I so look forward to Virgin Media Day and the annual circus... best of luck with your challenge as Virgin do their bit to keep inflation flying high.
