So your saying the 1% cash back is ongoing, even after the first year?baser999 said:Personally found I couldn’t set up on both iPhone and iPad. I’ve made do with the iPhone, works adequately for my needs. As for the cashback, I thought I’d read (on here?) that the one year had been dropped0 -
It still says on their website that the cash back will end after 12 monthsSickGroove said:

It got extended to the end of this month for those who had the account prior to Feb '22. So I'll have had the 1% cashback for 16 months.SickGroove said:

There is a hair’s width of difference once Chase rates increase, but for now it’s 2.7% vs 3.03% until 13th Feb. I’m running back into Chase’s arms on Valentines DayAndyTh_2 said:

I’m binning Chase unless they continue the 1% cashback after my year is up.0

There is no sign of them extending it after the 12 month period, which you accepted when you opened the account, so who would you bin them for?0

3% is a decent effort (relative to a lot of others) but can't see me staying with them if they remove the 1% cashback. Savings are already climbing the Zopa ladder at 3.26% and that may get another small bump after this latest BOE base rate rise if we're lucky.1

Not decided as yet but my spending habits are currently focussed around using Chase as a secondary account and taking advantage of the cashback. Once that is gone, my motivation to use them is gone. Savings wise they are no better or worse than many others so it’s just a case of how I manage my money and day to day spending. If the cashback goes, so does my motivation to stick with them.Stargunner said:There is no sign of them extending it after the 12 month period, which you accepted when you opened the account, so who would you bin them for?1 -
My extended 1% cashback ends at the end of the month, and I haven‘t used the Chase savings account for a long time now since their rate wasn‘t competitive. I find it painful to have to top up the current account for the cashback snd have more or less already stopped using it. I get 1% cashback for Supermarket spends with my RBS credit card, and 0.5% cashback on other spend with a Barclaycard credit card. The Barclaycard also pays cashback on purchases excluded by Chase (car service, voucher site etc) so on balance the Chase cashback has no compelling features any longer.
I also currently have alternatives for better savings rates than Chase. These accounts also served me well whilst Chase didn‘t offer attractive rates, so even the SO/DD functionality that comes with Chase doesn‘t tempt me back at this stage. I will be keeping my Chase accounts, however, in case they come up with something compelling in the future.1
