If it helps we've booked room only (with kitchen) for two people for a week in Gran Canaria in a three star for £1000 including flights from Stansted as a package with Jet2. I think that was a great price. Could potentially double it for all inclusive though. We've paid £1000 for half board in the past too.

They've gone up a bit as they have everywhere but it's still a reasonably affordable place to go even if the days of the 1 Euro pint are probably gone forever.

I really wanted to go to Majorca this summer, but the Canaries are working out much cheaper

For how long? And when in Summer?

For the first week in May a lot less than two weeks in mid August.
