Do payments to other cards count as purchases?

I expect I'm clutching at straws here, but we got an email out of the blue from egg, offering a blue card with a £5000 limit at 0% for purchases only.
We accepted and intend using it instead of paying for things with cash like we would normally do and the cash can go elsewhere.
Looking for all ways of using it to our best advantage, so wondered if paying another cc bill would count as a purchase or not. (Not transferring a bal.....just paying the usual monthly payment.)
Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm afraid that won't work. You would normally do it as a BT, and the only other way would be as a cash advance but you would be even worse off doing that.
Best just to carry on using it instead of cash if you want to build up the debt.0 -
I suspected as much. Thanks for replying.

Aliasojo,
if you're investigating paying for things you wouldnt normally with this credit card, do you know if a television licence can be payed by credit card. Or does that flag up as a cash advance?

You can use your credit card to pay for your licence online:

I don't know about all Post Offices though, I know our local one doesn't take any credit cards for anything, only debit cards.
As far as I know, this would be a purchase like any other.......not sure why you thought it might be classed as a cash advance?
Edit: Didn't mean that to sound cheeky, I was just a bit puzzled and I wondered if I was missing something.
