Annual Insurance Cover

I always purchase annual holiday insurance, so my question is, when my present policy expires and i get cover with another company how are my future already booked holidays covered?

What do you mean by "how"?

They are covered by virtue of the T&Cs and the premium paid. Just remember though that a condition that developed before you buy the policy has to be declared and an insurer may decline to provide cover for it.

Do you need to change, or is staying with the same company likely to be cost-effective?

If I had future trips booked, I would renew with the same company if possible (declaring any changes to my health).

A packaged bank account with travel insurance might be worth considering - standard  cover will renew automatically annually.
You need to ensure the terms and conditions suit your needs of course.
