Government Energy Discount

Has anyone else noticed on their most recent energy bill that the Energy Discount is being shown as "Credit" and "Refund" on one date, but the actual payment into my bank account was five days later. Is this another way for Energy Companies to increase their profits - or am I just being paranoid?

We've moved this to the Energy board. Rather than asking people to repost, if you see something that's in the wrong place, please use the 'report' button and we'll move it. That way we don't end up with duplicate threads, replies in more than one place etc.TheMilkmansDad said:for more detailed response try reposting on the energy board.Official MSE Forum Team member. Perhaps the delay is due to the time it takes to process the millions of payments that are having to be made as a result of the EBSS scheme?ForumiteChrisV said:Has anyone else noticed on their most recent energy bill that the Energy Discount is being shown as "Credit" and "Refund" on one date, but the actual payment into my bank account was five days later. The energy suppliers are currently limited to a tiny amount of profit - below 2% is allowable I believe - I'm not quite sure how you think that this might be a way of them increasing profits though?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
