And it is rather generous, especially for larger pots ( £1500 cashback)
However HL is more expensive than nearly all other similar platforms.
An extra platform cost of 0.2% on nearly £400K, would = £800 pa

However more important if you decide to DIY, is what to invest in on the platform, whether it is HL or another one.
What are your thoughts on AJ Bell?
They don't offer any cashback but will pay any fees incurred up to the value of £500

For a £365K pot Interactive Investors with a fixed charge of just under £120/year would be much cheaper than the % based platforms like AJBell.

AJBell, BestInvest, HL are the one I know without checking. 120/365000=0.03%

As I understand it, AJ Bell is a full market SIPP so I expect that their charges would be a bit higher for the extra features and facilities you would get (which many people would never use).
  • Interactive Investor Pension builder SIPP is £12.99 per month with first 6 month free. No free trades.
Alternate is adding a SIPP at £10 pm to a Trading/ISA account at 9.99pm (19.99 pm total). Includes one "free" trade per month.
(Or you could go for their Super Investor + SIPP....................)

True, so I was slightly out but II is still much cheaper for a £365K portfolio than say:

AJ Bell at 0.25% for the first £250K and 0.1% thereafter=£731/year
    Vanguard at 0.15% with a £375 cap =£375

The caveat is that HL, A J Bell & Fidelity have a low cap on charges if you are invested in 'exchange traded products' rather than Funds.
So if your portfolio is mainly ( or all ) shares, investment trusts and ETF's , then the charges are in the same ball park as Interactive Investor.
