Dinner last night egg, bacon, mushrooms, chips and beans for menfolk, I had mushroom and cheese omelette and salad. Early finish today so will sort something for dinner tonight after work.

Morning All
Back to wet and windy this morning, managed to get the washing nearly dry yesterday before the rain came back. Went for a walk to Aldi for a few things and had to have a lie down when I came back!
Going into work today, can't be sitting around any longer although I'm not really feeling it, hope it's calm. DD and the little one have a sickness bug so definitely not visiting them!
Hope everyone is doing ok, good to hear you're recovering Mehefin. Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks.Yesterday was definitely calmer than Tuesday though there was rain and medium winds. Now the high gusts are back. My trip up to Oban was enjoyable with my friends. The husband collected his new (to him) car so I left them in Marks. He seemed very nervous about driving it as it was much newer than his wrecked car so had all the techno gadgets.I didn't need much, only bought chicken thighs and belly pork and veg. The smell of the roasting chicken was so lovely. Of course, I ate the skins first after they cooked, I hate cold skin and love it when it's hot and crispy. Then I stripped the meat off and made some stock with the bones, not much but it'll get added to soup.Later on I had a mini-crisis, my beloved dishwasher is broken. When I switched it on nothing happened, no lights, nothing. There's power to it as the socket switch indicator above the worktop light is lit so the fault must be in the machine itself. It's not a real crisis, mini or otherwise, just a little unhappy surprise. 😄 Before I replace it a neighbour is coming to check it for me. He installed it in 2014 and can't remember if he also put in an insolation valve.Last night I took a cup of hot honey, ginger, turmeric and whisky to bed with me, just medicinal you know! No cold yet but just on the edge of it. Boy, did I enjoy it! I really dislike eating honey but can stomach it this way, at least a small amount. I don't know if the drink did any real good! It felt like a reward for doing the washing up by hand. 😇This morning I'm off back down the peninsula for my hair appointment. It's a long way but I really prefer this hairdresser and, when the rain dries up it'll be a really beautiful drive back. That'll be my whole day.Iris - I hope that your talk is enjoyable.Camelot - don't push yourself too hard.Mehefin - lovely to see you posting yesterday.Coxy - here's to a better day for you.Thoughts are radiating out to all our poorlies, nearly poorlies and those looking after poorly family. Happy Thursday to all.10

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's seems ok outside, dampish, but that's normal it seems. Yesterday wasn't bad.I actually went grocery shopping at last, went to Morries, it's handy. This lunchtime I'm going for a blood test at the Drs, there's an Aldi just a few minutes walk from there, so I'll probably have a look in there.Hope you enjoy the RSPCA talk at the WI Iris, sounds interesting.Snoozer, I'm an Elly Griffiths reader as well, that must have been a good talk. I knew she had a new book out.Sorry to hear you still aren't well Camelot, hope you get through the day all right.Good to hear from you Mehefin, hope you feeling a lot better, you sounded really poorly. Also, thoughts to our other poorly people, take care folks.11

Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc x
I was glad to finish work yesterday - a very strange day. We went to see The Fabelmans - a love letter to Spielberg's parents and the world of cinema. Great film if you can catch it.
Tonight we are having loaded sweet potatoes for dinner - another new SW recipe using turkey mince in a smoky chilli type concoction (am I selling it to you??!!).Enjoy the WI meeting @iris x
Let’s hope you don’t get the dreaded cough @Gers – loving the sound of your ‘medicine’ x
Glad you’re well enough to return to work @camelot1001 but don’t push yourself if you’re not 100% x
I too love Elly Griffiths books @snoozer – I bet the talk was really interesting. I missed SYLO as we were at the cinema. I think I’d need a big warehouse just for the loft – it’s one of our tasks for this year.
Well done on another 1lb lost @Izzybee – whoohoo!
Glad you are recovering @Mehefin, take it easy x
Hugs to all those in need and have a good day all

DD had a day off today so will pick my shopping up mid morning, I am going to have a tidy through this morning and see what we can have for dinner.
I took my car out yesterday for the first time since the op it was ok a little bit of pulling on the scar but nothing too bad so I shall do little bits every day to build it up, it was nice to be out for a while.
Had my nails done yesterday so I feel more like myself now I went for a bright red !Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning everyone
I have my bedding in the washing machine - it's windy out so hopefully it will stay on the line till I get home from work this afternoon. I don't start till lunchtime but have a course to do for work this morning and a very long form to fill in for the consultation document for school.
The meeting last night was very interesting and well supported - hopefully everyone will take the time to fill in the document. Lots of arguments against school closing but it seems we won't know anything till early Autumn - after the new Reception children have started! It was lovely to hear so many lovely testimonials for both nursery and school read out.
I wasn't home till almost 9 so it was a quick cuppa and a cuddle with the cat and off to bed.
Carolbee - I checked my dads very old premium bonds recently - he's never won a penny! Some were my nanas - I don't think she ever won either.
Take it easy at work Camelot
Well I better get moving
Hope you all have a good day X9 -
Well, I managed an hour at work, was totally washed out by the time I got there so have come home for a rest on the sofa. I'll stay off now until Monday and see how I feel then. Feeling quite fed up and sorry for myself.
Glad your meeting was well attended dp1, hope the school can remain open.
Well done on the win carolbee.
That's a major catastrophe Gers, would struggle without the dishwasher!
Great you could get out Ruby, sounds like you're heading in the right direction.
Take care. XX9 -
Morning...Busy day yesterday, am glad to have no appointments today. I have ordered wood for next week, booked in to get my nails done. Because I feel like a boost. I was pooped yesterday fater walking to the opticians and back, going shopping and fetching something from freecycle. She's now checked the curvature of my eye so will have another pair of contacts made up [4th pair so far] to see if that changes thing. It's only with contacts this happens, not glasses. She's definitely going above and beyond. Today I'll be upstairs and between programmes on the computer/tv. I've discovered a couple of my favourite DIY programmes are on again so I'll watch them as light relief...I rediscovered my allan keys in the kitchen drawer after I was searching for something for the conduit I put round the telephone wiring yesterday [so the wood doesn't squash it when I stack it next week] . I thought I had all my tools in the kind of right place...obviously not...Mehefin, good to hear you're better. Want some Christmas cheese? Iris, I keep meaning to join one, they sound interesting[ and more importantly, sociable]. Enjoy! Gers, might just be the fuse. But I'd look at what's on AO just in case
Similarly to you, I love a hot milk, honey and whisky [or brandy/rum] every now and again..Izzy, well done, and same with the freezer, mines got big gaps now. Ruby, good to hear you're improving..carolbe, also a good start for me, it'll pay for the nails anyway...
Rosy, yeah! they're so lazy now aren't they, insurance companies? They just want pictures or a video uploaded of damage, they obviosuly though why pay someone to go and look when we can get the owners to do it for us....Take care today, sofa it up with a film or a book and some soup and a crusty buttered roll...Or just sofa it up...
